While Yutakamidori is typically known for its strong umami paired with noticeable bitterness, the tea cultivated on Yakushima offers a unique, milder profile. The typical bitterness is significantly softened, leaving a clean, pleasant taste with a hint of natural sweetness.

This versatile tea has no peculiarities and is perfect for daily enjoyment—it is, in fact, the preferred brew of the tea farmers themselves.

Grown in Nature's Ideal Conditions
This tea is sourced from Yakushima, a remote island in southern Kyushu famous for its lush, rain-soaked environment. The local saying goes, "It rains 35 days a month," and this heavy rainfall actually creates ideal conditions for tea cultivation.

Tea leaves develop bitterness and astringency when exposed to excessive sunlight. On Yakushima, the rapidly changing weather and frequent mist naturally regulate the intensity of the sun, preventing the leaves from receiving too much direct light. This unique climate naturally creates the tea's mild, less bitter flavor and also prevents the leaves from drying out.

All tea leaves are grown on Yakushima and are 100% Organic, cultivated without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

How to Brew
For the best flavor, always use soft water such as Aquafina, Dasani, and follow these guidelines:
1. First brew
Temperature: Cool your water to approximately.
🌿Tea Leaf: 7g / 0.25oz
🌿Water: 50°C (122°F) , 60ml  (2 fl oz) 
🌿Steeping Time: 60 seconds
2. Second brew
🌿Water: 60°C (140°F) , 120ml (4 fl oz)
🌿Steeping Time: 30 seconds

To ensure a highly concentrated extraction, use only a small amount of hot water for the first steep. This method allows you to clearly perceive the differences in the tea's flavor profile.
