This is a woodblock printing plate. Two women wearing kimonos are arranged vertically. The composition is dynamic, unique, and delicate. The pattern on the women's kimonos is called 矢絣 yagasuri, which was also adopted as a student uniform during the Meiji and Taisho eras and was very popular.
The kimono patterns and even the women's hair are carved in minute detail.
A signature is carved, but details about the artist are unknown.
