Vintage Japanese Boro Maekake Apron, Aizome Indigo Dyed, Sake Brewery

Japanese vintage Boro Maekake apron for sauce manufacture workers with Kanji, Aizome indigo Blue dyed 1970s.

This is a traditional Japanese work wear worn around the waist by rice dealers, sake brewers, and other shopkeepers, and is called maekake.
Made of thick cotton threads, these sturdy maegake are made of thick cotton fabrics, many of which are indigo-dyed.
Since the Meiji period (1868-1912), "yago" (store name) has been dyed on them, and they have been used as uniforms and for advertising purposes. After World War II, they became very popular and were used in stores all over Japan.
The most interesting thing about the simple shape is that it is actually said that the primary role of a Maekake is to "protect the waist. It is thought that by tying a cord around the navel, the wearer was able to maintain balance throughout the body.

It is written in Kanji characters as "中房食品", Nakabo Foods, "青果, fruits, "蒟蒻", konjac, and their phone numbers.
