RARE! Japanese vintage ceramic censer incense burner Signed with dragon cloud diamond shape Green cinnabar glaze For GIFT W5.5in/W14cm.
This is a rare cinnabar glazed green glazed pottery incense burner. Not many pottery in this shade can be found in Japan.
It was made by a popular Japanese potter Keiun. He mainly makes bonsai pots and has won gold medals at numerous ceramic art exhibitions.
His works other than bonsai pots are very rare. It was probably made for himself or by special order.
The shape is also unusual, a rhombus, which is unique because it was inspired by bonsai pots. The lid has a charming dragon on an openwork cloud.
The glaze color is also unique, a mixture of green and reddish brown with a hint of pink. The glaze is slightly shiny, so the colors appear to change when exposed to light, which is beautiful.
The name is engraved on the back.
A wooden box is also included, making it an ideal gift.

condition...
It is in very good condition, But, if you look closely at the inside rim of the lid, you can see that the glaze is peeling. There is also a small crack on the inside rim of the body, which is formed during the firing process, but is not a problem for use. It's ready to use.
I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
