Matcha bowl Japanese vintage CHAWAN "kenzan" kyo-ware with flower, Signed, Tea Ceremony with a box

This is a matcha tea bowl known as Kyo-yaki, made in Kyoto. It is a copy of 乾山 Ogata Kenzan, a painter and potter from the mid-Edo period. A copy is an imitation made at a later date, and Kenzan's work has been imitated in great numbers.
Although it is an imitation, the unevenness of the glaze has been intentionally left, resulting in a unique, slightly distorted bowl. The pitch-black glaze features lily-of-the-valley flowers in white areas. One of the characteristics of Kenzan and the Rinpa school is the deliberate avoidance of clear, abstract designs that resemble patterns.
The base is signed "Kenzan" in large letters, and this too is painted to resemble the original.

It is in good condition, but there are small scratches and dirt due to aging. There are a few areas on the sides where the glaze is missing, but that's part of its charm and does not affect its use.
