This is old delicate wooden carved Petal type Buddha statue Japanese vintage ”OMAMORI” (Buddha Amulet) made of wood. It is called Ku Kuuzo Bosatsu (虚空蔵菩薩) Akasagarbha bodhisattva. It is a crucifix that, like the void, possesses infinite wisdom and merit. It is also said to confer unlimited benefits, like the firmament that will never be destroyed. It is also thought to be a talisman for people in the year of the tiger and the year of the ox in the Chinese zodiac. The carving is very detailed and wonderful. A beautiful piece that is small but delicately carved.
