This is a tray made of wood ,lacquer, gold.
In Japan, "お膳ozen"(Tray) has been used as a pedestal for important items and as a tray for meals.
It is made with a lacquer technique called "蒔絵maki-e," in which gold powder is glued to the surface to draw pictures and patterns.
This one is a little small and is perfect for carrying things like matcha sets.
It can be used immediately without any major damage.
