Japanese vintage stackable lacquered wood boxes with Kanji,"Kiridame" multi purpose 7 nesting boxes Furniture BigH4.9xW19.1 SmallH2.6xW7.7in.

This set of 7 lacquered boxes is called as "切溜Kiridame" meaning "cut and keep". The lid is one.
Kiridame was mainly used in a kitchen to stock foods. Some were kept in the shelf and others were used on the table or in the sink during cooking. They were also used like tote box among neighbors to carry food when a party was held. Thus Kiridame generally had brands of owner's name to distinguish to whom which belongs. The lid and the side of the box are also marked with branding.

This set is perfect, full of seven box. Each box nests exactly with a gap even the card cannot get in.
The color of lacquer is beautifully aged. Lids also can be used as trays. It also can be used as pedestals by putting up with any combinations. It's up to you how it can be.
