Japanese vintage small Children Doll with golden hammer made of pottery with pedestal H6.7×5.1in/H17×13cm.
These dolls, called 御所人形 gosho ningyo, were beloved by the court and court nobles during the Edo period and imitated the appearance of young children. One of the characteristics of these dolls is their large heads and plump, adorable figures. This doll was made in the Showa period.
The creator's name is written as “Sakurayama,” but the details are unknown.
The original wooden box is included.
The doll is holding a golden hammer, which appears in old Japanese stories as a magic mallet that can bring out anything when shaken. It is popular as a lucky motif.
