Japanese vintage SETO artist vase for one flower kiln ware handmade boxed H7.9in/20cm

This is Seto ware, a piece made using ash glaze.
It was created by Kato Shunto (1916-2005), the official holder of Seto ash glaze techniques.
Ash glaze is the most basic glaze made from wood ash, and originated in the 瀬戸　Seto region during the Heian period and developed throughout the Middle Ages and early modern period. Kato's works in particular exhibit a beautiful, translucent pale blue glaze.
This vase also boasts a unique glaze color and atmosphere, with an exquisite hue that hints at green and gray.
It comes in a wooden box with his signature, making it a great gift.
