This is a musical instrument that has been used during the festival dance called Yosakoi Matsuri. Dancers dance with Naruko in both hands, clacking and clacking like a musical instrument as they dance. Originally, Naruko was a tool to protect rice and crops from birds and animals by hanging them in the fields.
