A traditional Japanese umbrella called 番傘Bangasa.
They are handmade one by one by craftsmen.
They were very popular in the Edo period (1603-1867), and umbrellas with shop names and other information were also made.
This umbrella in dark red color has two stage adjustment, narrow and wide opened.
It is also used in the Japanese dance "日舞 Nichibu.
There are tiny halls in paper, but is in good overall condition..
