A sake cup made by a craftsman Olibe ware. This is called black 織部焼 Oribe ware.
Oribe ware was invented by tea master and samurai 古田織部 Furuta Oribe in the Momoyama period (1573-1600) . It has a flower-like painting on the inside. Cracks in the glaze are called “貫入kannyu” (penetration). This is a color that darkens and changes as the piece is used. The Japanese have enjoyed this change.
It has a small, lightweight, and soft texture when you hold it. It is signed in Kanji characters on the back.
It is in very good condition. And It is recommended as a gift.
