This is a paper lampshade called a paper lantern. The paper is extremely delicate, evoking Japan's unique culture and aesthetic sensibility.
Originally, it was made to decorate stalls at festivals held at Japanese shrines. It features a red circle design because in Japan and China, the color red has long been considered a symbol of good fortune, prosperity, warding off evil spirits, and lively gatherings. Furthermore, since the Edo period, the red circle evokes the image of fire, leading to the custom of hanging red lanterns as markers for restaurants and eateries.

The condition is very good, though there are some small holes and stains. Each is sold individually, but there are three items with the same design available.
Simply place an LED candle inside to enjoy it right away.
