Japanese vintage hand made ceramic small jar flower vase Shino ware hanging vase Kanji signed with wood box H5.1in/H13cm.

These vases are small and have a simple beauty.
The name of this work is “Travel Pillow.” It can stand on its own, but can also be hung on a wall to enjoy.
These are called “志野 Shino ware,” and the variations in the colors of the glaze and clay never get boring. There are also variations in the texture of the surface, allowing you to enjoy the natural colors and expressions.
The white background is decorated with flower-like designs, and the glaze has natural cracks called “貫入 Kannyu”
The condition is good, and they come in their original wooden box.

This pottery is called “Shino” and is a type of “美濃 Mino-yaki” produced in what is now Gifu Prefecture during the Azuchi-Momoyama period of the 16th century using white glaze. There are multiple types, such as Akashino and Shino, and the techniques used are designated as Important Intangible Cultural Properties.
