Japanese vintage bronze vase brown 鶴首TSURUKUBI gourd shaped reddish brown marbled, with box for Tea ceremony TAKAOKA For GIFT H8.5in/H21.5cm.
This copper vase is named "鶴首Tsurukubeshi" (crane neck neck).
This unique name is said to derive from the crane-like neck extending from the mouth to the bottom of the vase. This vase is ideal for beautifully displaying a single flower and has been used in the tea ceremony in Japan.
The simple appearance is never boring, and the impression can be changed depending on the flowers to be inserted.
This is a variation of the tsurukubi with a gourd motif.
It is famous for being used by Sen no 利休Rikyu, the founder of 侘び茶wabicha, Sen no Rikyu.
The color is an elegant reddish brown.
It is in good condition and very beautiful. It is ready to use. It comes in a wooden box with a Kanji character signature, so it is recommended as a gift.
