Japanese vintage black lacquer MAKIE flower vase with birds wave picture in gold, Ikebana utensil, tea ceremony, for GIFT H9.4in/24cm.
This work is made by a technique called 蒔絵Makie, which draws a pattern using lacquer and gold on wood surface.
In Japan, a small bird called as a zigzag is drawn in a semi-three-dimensional shape.
A very cute work with a simple design.
It is possible to add water to decorate the flowers. The inner container is made of copper.
This is called Wajima-nuri, a traditional handicraft made in Ishikawa Prefecture since the Heian period (794-1185).
It is durable and has a beautiful luster.
Wooden box with a signature included. I recommend this as a gift!

condition...
It is in very good condition, but there are small scratches and dirt due to aging.
I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
