This is a signboard for a fishing net manufacturer. Kanji, Chinese characters and a trade mark are carved and painted in gold. The trade mark is called as "Shippo" which is made up of several intersecting rings. The pattern is endlessly connected in all directions. It is a very auspicious pattern that means happiness and prosperity of descendants. A thick wood board is reinforced by two bars to prevent from splitting.
