"Suiseki" is a Japanese culture or hobby of viewing stones indoors.
This culture came from China in the 12th century, and getting popular among noble and samurai society.
They preferred and collected stones which resembles mountain and made a small landscape scenery in a tray filled with water. It has something in common with "bonsai" and "suiseki" are also displayed in "tokonoma", an alcove in a traditional Japanese room where art pieces are displayed. 

This suiseki is called as "佐治川石 Saji-gawa Stone", renowned as one of Japan's Three Great Famous Stones , alongside the Kamo-gawa Stone and the Srta-gawa Stone.  

Gazing upon the surface of this Suiseki, one sees the frozen movement of flowing lava, capturing a sense of soft, draped fabric. Yet, the fascinating contrast emerges when the stone is displayed upright: it transforms into a craggy mountain cliff, suddenly revealed in a remote mountain gorge as the mist clears. 
Its inherent instability—one side thick, the other thin—creates an almost perilous tension, with the base lifting slightly off the surface. However, this precarious shape is perfectly anchored by the meticulously adjusted wooden base, whose flat summit lends the stone a profound sense of stability.
