Japanese beautiful vintage vase porcelain indigo blue SAKE bottle "KOIMARI" with arabesque pattern hand painting with box 1920s H9.1in/23cm.

This shape is called Heishi, which is a kind of jar, which is a relatively small vessel with a narrowed rim, and was mainly used as a sake set in the Middle Ages.
This pattern is attached to the outside of the spirally wound vine with a simplified leaf. It is commonly called the octopus arabesque pattern because it is just like the sucker of the octopus's foot.
The gentle colors make you feel the times, and the shape is very beautiful even if you decorate flowers.
Singed in Kanji calligraphy on the back.
It is in good condition with no chips and would make a great gift!

"IMARI" ware originated in China in the early 17th century.
"SOMETSUKE" is a porcelain painted with a pattern of indigo on a white background.
In this work, in addition to "SOMETSUKE" technique, glaze is layered to create a relief-like three-dimensional feeling.
