This is an antiquel 九谷 Kutani ware sake cup made in late 19th century.
Kutani Ware (Kutani-yaki) is a renowned style of Japanese porcelain from Ishikawa Prefecture, famous for its bold and colorful overglaze enamel painting and its history dated back to the mid-17th century.  Its appeal lies in the contrast between the pure white porcelain base and the vibrant, luxurious enamel applied over the glaze.

This sakazuki (sake cup) is remarkable for its innovative use of white glaze—a color traditionally left unpainted in Kutani Ware—applied to express the texture of a chrysanthemum, complete with fine crackling (kannyu). The flower design dynamically expands from the interior of the cup outwards, and a wave pattern has been added to its base, adding a final delicate touch.

It comes in a wooden box and is recommended as a gift.
