This noren, Japanese traditional curtain was used in a machiya house.
Japanese traditional wooden townhouses, called as machiya are mainly designed as people can stay comfortable in summer. Ventilation is the first priority. Rooms are divided by sliding doors made of wood and papers and they are taken away in summer and replaced by misu, bamboo curtains and noren. Noren is useful for places where people often pass through because it can be easily pushed away and keep privacy when closed thought people can hear.

The crest for rising wisteria is dyed through calm gray color. Wisteria was used for a symbol as Fujiwara family,one of the most powerful and influential noble families in Japan's history, particularly during the Heian period (794-1185) . Due to the Fujiwara clan's widespread influence across Japan and their construction of numerous shrines and temples, their family crest is one of the most commonly seen today.

The top is sewn into a loop which enables easy instal anywhere by inserting a narrow bar .
