Japanese antique measuring box urushi Lacquer"枡MASU" with a handle ,sake ladle wood Kanji calligraphy 1920s H12.8×5.5in/H32.5×14cm.
”Masu" is a tool used to store "nengu"(tax) since the Middle Ages.Once taxes were paid in rice.
This box had a stick attached to it, which acted like a ladle. It is also recommended for pumping sake.
It has kanji characters on two sides, which is cool. The stick is a little wobbly. We would recommend using it as a decoration.

condition...
It is in good condition, but there are peeling lacquer, small scratches and dirt due to aging.
I list antiques that sometimes have chips, rubbings and cracks
as they are very old antiques so please check the images and understand the current
condition before buying.
