Japanese antique handcraft small plate, KINTUSGI porcelain ceramic dish Blue White SOMETSUKE 3.9in/10cm.

These small plates were made from the Taisho period to the early Showa period and are sold individually, not as a set.
This technique is called “Somezuke,” in which patterns are hand-painted in indigo. This technique was often used for Imari ware.
It is said that the mountains, rivers, and buildings are depicted vaguely, but this is a very simplified version.
Chips and other defects have been repaired using the kintsugi technique.
There are also cracks made during the firing process.
All pieces are handmade, and each one is slightly different in shape.
Please enjoy the used atmosphere and the uniqueness of each piece.

Mame-dare is often used in Japanese kaiseki cuisine. For example, it is used to top pickles and condiments. Japanese cuisine has a unique custom of serving dishes with different flavors on separate plates. This allows one to directly taste the flavor of each dish and ingredient. Another interesting aspect of Japanese cuisine is the ability to add seasonings and other ingredients on the spot to personalize the dish to one's own taste.

Another way to use the dish is to place accessories in the container. This way of cooking is very popular in Japan.
