Japanese Antique god ornament Very old pottery pink god figurine name DAIKOKU doll from shinto shrine 1800s Edo period H5.9in/H15cm.
This is one of the gods, 大黒Daikoku-sama, who was enshrined in the homes of farmers.
In Japan, he is the god of wealth and fortune, and is a familiar figure chosen as one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune.
What makes this one unique is its color. It is a marble of unique bright colors like pink and gray, and looks like modern art.
In his hands are an Uchide-no-Kozuchi, which is said to bring treasures, and a good luck bag, while the two cylindrical objects below represent rice bales. The two cylindrical objects below represent rice bales, which are said to represent food and treasure.
Japan has its own unique beliefs. Ancient indigenous beliefs that find deities in mountains and large rocks coexist in a mixture and fusion of Buddhist, Chinese, and Korean legends. As a result, many gods are believed to exist.
□ Size: H 5.9in × W 3.9in × D 3.5in (about H15cm×W10cm×D9cm )
□ Weight : 11.8oz (336g)
□ Material : pottery ※wooden pedestal is not included
condition...
It is in good condition, but there are scratches and dirt due to aging. As you can see in the picture, the color has discolored over time, but that is very cool.
