Japanese antique furniture wooden box Chest of Drawers "TANSU" cabinet 7 drawers Kanji signature 1800s Edo H17.9×W25×D14.8in.

This is a type of chest called a 船箪笥fune(ship)-dansu. This was used to take it inside the ship.
It is medium in size and sturdy in construction.
It has seven drawers, so it is easy to use for storing small items. The color of the lacquer is dark brown.
It is simple and has few decorations, but the atmosphere of aged wood is cool.
There is no major damage that would cause problems with use, but there are many scratches on the outside. The wood on the bottom has been partially restored.

Overall, it is in good condition and opens and closes relatively smoothly.
The chests in my store have been cleaned, oiled and cared for. The drawer backs have been waxed and adjusted to make them smooth to open and close.
However, there are some age-related cracks in the wood, peeling lacquer, and rust on metal parts.
