Japanese antique bronze Old small bell for horses ornament Suzu 1800s Metal craft Paper weight 2.2×0.9in/5.5×2.3cm.

These have been used as horse bells since ancient times and are called 馬鈴 balei. The distinctive doughnut-shaped bell has a “ball” inside the horse bell, which rolls and hits somewhere inside the ring.
The vibration of the ball hitting the ring causes the entire ring to resonate. Even if the horse bell is touching your clothes, the part of the horse bell that is not touching anywhere else will vibrate and make a sound.
The sound is very beautiful, pleasant to listen to, and recommended for meditation.
