These are made of 備前 Bizen ware, which is pottery that uses no glaze and makes use of the natural texture of the clay. They are a very dark brown color, and over the course of 100 years, they have developed a beautiful depth and luster. These are probably small in size, so they were probably carried around as talismans during travel or peddling.

恵比寿 Ebisu and 大黒 Daikoku are two of the most popular deities in Japanese folklore and are often worshipped as a pair. They are members of the Seven Lucky Gods (七福神　Shichifukujin) and are widely revered as symbols of prosperity, good fortune, and abundance.
