These wooden hooks and carved wooden carp decorations were used in farmhouse fireplaces during the Meiji and Taisho periods. They are called “自在 JIZAI.” Even though they are the same type of fish carving, these are very old and have a wonderful aged look. The chains are also handmade, making them valuable items.
It can also be hung as interior decoration.
The atmosphere of having been smoked by smoke over the years is also charming. It is well-made and can be used immediately. Both the wood and metal parts have a patina that reflects the passage of time.
