The Zenith of Spring: Limited Edition Shincha Blend
We are proud to present a limited-time, limited-quantity blend of two rare, first-harvest (Shincha) green teas: Kuritawase and Asatsuyu.
This blend is a true celebration of the season, combining the very first new leaves of the year—rich with the nutrients stored over winter—to create a peak flavor experience available only now.
The Blend: Crisp Contrast Meets Rich Sweetness
The sublime flavor profile is achieved by carefully balancing two exceptionally distinct and rare cultivars:
Kuritawase (The Crisp Base)
This exceptionally early-budding (Gokuwase) tea is born on Japan's southernmost tea island, Tanegashima, and accounts for less than 1% of the country's total tea production.
It offers a wonderfully refreshing aroma and a flavor that balances the slight bitterness of spring vegetables with a natural sweetness. It has a smooth mouthfeel with minimal astringency, complemented by a hint of sweet, creamy fragrance and robust umami.
Asatsuyu (The Sweet Accent)
Known as "Natural Gyokuro," Asatsuyu is a highly prized, rare cultivar famous for its intense sweetness and deep, fragrant aroma, with very little bitterness. Due to its low yield and cultivation difficulties, Asatsuyu is rarely seen on the general market.
The harmonious contrast between Asatsuyu's rich sweetness and Kuritawase's crisp, refreshing bitterness reaches its absolute pinnacle in these first-harvest leaves.
Pure and Organic Origin
All tea leaves used in this blend are grown in Yakushima and are 100% Organic, cultivated without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
How to Brew
For the best flavor, always use soft water such as Aquafina, Dasani, and follow these guidelines:
1. First brew
Temperature: Cool your water to approximately 50°C (122°F).
🌿Tea Leaf: 7g / 0.25oz
🌿Water: 60ml / 2 fl oz
🌿Steeping Time: 60 seconds
2. Second brew
🌿Water: 120ml (60°C / 140°F)
🌿Steeping Time: 30 seconds
To ensure a highly concentrated extraction, use only a small amount of hot water for the first steep. This method allows you to clearly perceive the differences in the tea's flavor profile.
