FINE! RARE! Japanese vintage Noh doll Koomote mask mask dancing woman "井筒” made of wood and silk KIMONO for Gift H8.9×5.5in/H22.5×14cm

This 能 Noh puppet wearing a woman's Noh mask is beautifully crafted. The fan, kimono, and other costumes are also beautiful, and the hands are delicately made.
It exudes an elegant atmosphere.  
This is one of the dolls created with the theme of Noh, a traditional Japanese performing art. We have also listed other dolls by the same artist.  
This doll is based on the play “井筒 Izutsu.”  
This woman is the ghost of a wife from a couple featured in the “Ise Monogatari,” who dances a beautiful dance while reminiscing about her husband whom she loved for many years.
Among Noh plays, this is considered the pinnacle of “female roles,” which pursue the elegance and emotional richness of women.  
The timeless love between a couple and the obsession born from that love are expressed through quiet, elegant dance and song, making this a highly popular Noh work, and this puppet beautifully captures that essence.  
It stands independently on a square wooden base, but the brown tray below is not included.
