Japanese vintage Tokoname ware ceramic kiln Perfect tea set with sign 波六, pot, 5 cups, water cooler, SENCHA tableware Tea ceremony For GIFT.

This is a set for authentic Japanese 煎茶 Sencha tea ceremony.
What makes it different from a regular sencha set is the size.
These are really small and delicately made.
Authentic Sencha requires very little hot water to brew tea. Therefore, brewing tea in these small tea sets allows you to enjoy a more delicate and intense tea flavor.
They are all handmade, thin and delicate, so much so that the pictures do not do them justice. On the lid of the pot is a type of mushroom, also known as lingzhi. It is said that this was thought to be a medicine for immortality in the old days.
It is made of beautiful pottery with soft earth tones. They are mostly unused and in good condition.

Each of these tea utensils is signed “波六” Haroku Tomozawa was born in Nada-cho, Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. He was interested in pottery from a young age and studied pottery in Mishima. He is well known for his tea utensils, but has also created unique pots and other items. The tea sets he makes are very rare and valuable.

Tokoname ware is a traditional Japanese pottery that originated in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. It is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, and its history dates back to the 8th century during the Heian period. Tokonameyaki is characterized by its rustic, earthy texture. Many pieces are made using the “yakishime” technique, in which the pottery is fired without glaze, allowing the true colors of the clay to shine through.

It is an ideal gift for tea lovers who want to enjoy authentic sencha tea.
