Fine Japanese vintage Hand Woven Bamboo Shallow Square Basket for tea ceremony, basket for charcoal 炭籠SUMI-KAGO 10in/25.5cm MINGEI craftt.

This is one of the tea utensils called a 炭籠SUMI-KAGO charcoal basket or 炭斗SUMI-TO charcoal funnel. A container to hold a small amount of charcoal. A tool used to hold charcoal in a brazier or kamado.
It is covered with paper inside to prevent pieces of charcoal from falling into the room when placed or carried. It is very delicately woven and beautiful.
Bamboo is woven thin and elegantly and coated with lacquer for durability.
The inside is coated with paper and black lacquer.
