Japanese antique Bronze buddha Miroku Maitreya Bodhisattva statue buddhist temple statue (H10.8in/27.5cm)

The 弥勒菩薩 Miroku Bosatsu Hanka Shiyui-zo (Maitreya Bodhisattva in the Half-Lotus Contemplative Pose) is one of the most iconic and distinct forms of Buddhist sculpture in East Asia.

The posture depicts the Maitreya Bodhisattva seated with the right ankle resting on the left knee, with one finger of the right hand lightly touching the cheek—a pose that symbolizes deep contemplation (思惟, shiyui).
This type of Buddha statue is very famous in Nara and Kyoto temples, and many similar ones have been made in Japan. However, this one is particularly ancient and has a unique aura. First of all, there's the variety of colors. The aged look and the beauty of the metal, which has become slightly smoother with age, make it completely different from newer items.
Unfortunately, however, it's unclear when or where it was made. It may have come from China or the Korean Peninsula. It was carefully kept by a collector.
The condition is very good, although there is what appears to be a crack when viewed from the back of the bottom. However, this is not damage that would cause it to break, and the metal is quite thick.
