FINE! Japanese antique very thick lacquer pedestal Reddish brown color BONSAI stand, low tea table 17.9×13.2in/45.5×33.5cm.

It is not usual to paint lacquer as thick as this pedestal. It needs a lot of lacquer and takes a long to paint and dry more than 10 times. But it succeeded to give special impression of what wad made from ? Its top is flat and shows traditional lacquer technique called as "津軽塗" Tsugarunuri which requires painting and polishing more than 40 times.

There are some scrapes and scratches shown in pictures, but no major damage and it is ready for use. The pedestal is large enough to display bonsai trees and ornaments, or as a low platform for a tea set.

It is in good condition, but there are small scratches and dirt due to aging. There is a peeling of lacquer on the lower part of the foot.
