FINE! Japanese antique furniture 1800s black wooden low Chest of Drawers "TANSU" cool metal clasp Edo craft H10.6in×W22.4in×27in×57cm.
This chest of drawers is called 会津箪笥Aizu-dansu. This chest was made in the Edo period.
Made in what is now Fukushima Prefecture, its slightly smaller size is popular in Japan. They can be displayed on chests or shelves.
It has a very cool atmosphere and fits well in modern houses.
The metal fittings are unique and beautiful, and if you look closely, you can see the 桜 SAKURA cherry blossom design.
The hardware is very solid and beautifully made.
The wood and lacquer ageing atmosphere makes it even cooler.
Overall, it is in good condition and opens and closes relatively smoothly.
The chest of drawers in my store has been cleaned, oiled, and cared for. The backs of the drawers have been waxed and adjusted to open and close smoothly.
However, there are some cracks in the wood, peeling lacquer, and rust on the metal parts due to age.
We recommend this chest of drawers, which gives a sense of elegance and presence just by being placed in the room!
