This set of two very beautiful bowls was made in the late Edo period. It is recommended for serving soup, dishes, desserts, etc. for parties and other entertaining purposes. It is actually usable.
Wooden ground, urushi lacquer, and maki-e lacquer are used to depict golden pine needles. The lines are delicate and very beautiful. The inside is bright red.
There are some small scratches, but overall the condition is good.
This is a beautiful item with a very high quality feel.
It holds soup as well as food and the lid keeps it warm.
