A Vessel for Sacred Rituals:
The Kashakouro is a high-ranking incense burner used to purify the air before sacred Buddhist rites. Its three-part structure—lid, steamer, and fireplace—is designed to release smoke gracefully through the intricate lotus-shaped vents. The three legs are masterfully cast as Shishi Lions, the traditional guardians of the Dharma, believed to roar away negative energies.

Exquisite Craftsmanship & Patina:
Cast in thick, high-quality brass, this censer has aged into a deep, regal bronze tone. The lid is crowned with a lotus bud, symbolizing purity emerging from the mundane world. Because it includes its original wooden storage box (Tomobako), this piece is ideal as a prestigious gift or a central piece for a home Zen altar.

Condition & Wabi-Sabi Character:
In Very Good Antique Condition. The interior shows authentic dark char marks from past incense offerings, a soulful sign of its ritual history. The exterior brass is robust and beautifully oxidized. It is structurally perfect and ready to be used with charcoal and loose incense, or simply displayed as a sculptural masterpiece.
