Vintage Japanese Bronze Temple Bell, Dragon Stand, Buddhist Instrument (H11.4in/H29cm)

This set features beautiful reliefs of dragons, Buddha statues, and heavenly maidens, and comes with a base, bell, and shaft, so you can use it right away. While similar items exist, this one is larger and of higher quality. The reliefs are also intricately crafted.

The base is decorated with a dragon pattern and features a lotus flower motif. The color is close to black, giving it a luxurious feel. The original, pre-worn shaft is also easy to use.

In ancient Japan, temple bells were primarily used as signals at temples and camps.

Bells not only told the time, but it was believed that those who heard them would be freed from all suffering and attain enlightenment. They also signaled the start of morning and evening memorial services, and their solemn sound played an important role in connecting temples and local residents.
