The red, brown, gold and black marble color is beautiful in an organic atmosphere.
This technique is called 津軽塗Tsugaru-nuri, and is one of the traditional crafts of Aomori Prefecture.
In the lacquer technique, it is called Togidashi Henshin-nuri. The very time-consuming technique of painting and polishing takes more than 40 processes and more than two months to finish.
The shells are embedded with a technique called mother-of-pearl inlay, which makes them glitter in places.
Trays of this size are not very common. It carries a lot in parties or also can be used as a board for displaying art and antique pieces.

There are some lacquer's peeling-off at edged shown in pictures and there are small scratches and dirt due to aging.
