Japanese antique bronze vase brown, with Kanji signature for Tea ceremony, name 鶴首TSURUKUBI (shape of the neck of a crane) H11.8×3.5in
This is a vase made of copper named 鶴首Tsuru-kubi.
This unique name is said to be derived from the shape of the vase's neck, which stretches from the mouth to the bottom like a crane. This vase is ideal for beautifully displaying a single flower and has been used in the tea ceremony in Japan.
The simple appearance of this vase will never get boring and can give a different impression depending on the flowers you place in it.
It is also famous that 千利休Sen no Rikyu, the founder of 侘び茶wabi-cha, owned this crane neck as his favorite item.
The color is a deep brown.
It is in good condition and has a kanji signature on the bottom. It is ready to use. It comes in a wooden box with a Kanji character signature and is recommended as a gift.
Simple and elegant, it goes well with any flowers.
