Set of 4 Japanese antique bronze metal furniture FUSUMA sliding door handles flower design with sign openwork HIKITE 1900s H3.5×3in/H9×7.5cm.

The handle is beautifully aged. It was made from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. Signatures are engraved on the backside of all.
The entire design is like a flower, and the openwork around it is delicate and beautiful. It has a massive feel.
It is simple and elegant rather than cute.
Each piece is handmade, so there are subtle differences in color and shape. There is a small hole for fixing.
Some parts are distorted or have gaps.

This item is a Japanese door handle called FUSUMA. FUSUMA is a frame made of wood or the like with paper or cloth on both sides and a handle attached to it. It is one of the fittings used to partition the Japanese-style room.

There is a word SHITURAU in Japanese language.
This meaning is a combination of the two meanings of SHI (Doing) and TURAU (matching).
In Japan, the culture of SHITURAU space has permeated people since the Heian period.
For example, the samurai attached a crest-shaped handle to his house.
Besides that, there was a culture that sometimes expressed the season, dignity, message, etc. with buildings such as FUSUMA. This item is also a product of that culture.
