Set of 3 Red Gold lacquer MAKIE wooden sake cups with a crane flying over sea , Japanese Antique wooden "sakazuki" for Gift W4.9in/12.5cm

These sake cups are made of wood and lacquer, very thin, light and delicate. The same picture is painted on the inside of each cup with gold Maki-e. A treasure boat is sailing through the weaves where a crane is flying above. These are all traditional Japanese auspicious motifs and are often depicted on furnishings used for special celebratory occasions such as New Year's Day.

Stored in a wooden box. There are cracks in the lacquer on a large and medium cup as shown in pictures.
