RARE! Japanese Antique Radical of a kanji, Kanji root, calligraphic styles book wood block for printing 1890s hand carved font sample W11.8in/W30cm.

The woodblocks hand-carved from this wood are large and very cool.
The words carved here describe the basic techniques of writing kanji characters, such as “Tome” (stop) and “Harai” (brush stroke), and their shapes.
It is believed that by mastering these techniques, one can write beautiful characters.
One is called “Harai (brush stroke)” and the other is called “Hane (jump stroke)”.

The carving is excellent, with all of the very fine lines represented in the engraving.
It may be displayed on the wall as is, or printed on paper.
