RARE!! Japanese Antique 1868s wooden signboard hidden Christian with Kanji/valuable historical document H15.6×W30.7in/H39.7×78cm.

This is a large wooden signboard that is valuable as a historical reference. They were placed all over Japan in 1868, the first year of the Meiji era. The sign states the prohibition of believing in Christianity.
The atmosphere of the aged wood has a strong presence.

　一　切支丹宗門の儀は是迄御制禁のとおり通固くあいまもるべきこと可相守事
　一　邪宗門の儀は固く禁止の事

　The Kirishitan sect is strictly forbidden.
　The rituals of the evil sects are strictly forbidden.
