Large! Japanese vintage cast iron metal doll ornament TAI fish & god "Ebisu" with SENSU fish art H18.9in(H48cm) .

This is a very large and impressive cast iron figurine. It is painted on iron.
The motifs are Ebisu-sama, one of the many gods of Japan, and a large fish called tai. Both are auspicious motifs.

恵比寿 Ebisu is usually depicted holding a fishing rod in his right hand and a sea bream in his left. But this one is unique in that it sits on a very large sea bream. And, as if to symbolize the auspiciousness of the occasion, the god is raising his fan high in the air. This is also one of the traditional poses to express joy and jubilation.
According to various legends, he was deified and floated down from the sea. He is also called a visiting deity.

The snapper, he, and the fishing rod can be disassembled.
