Japanese vintage pottery small bell with pattern Edo Period Reproductions, Paper weight H3in×2in/H7.5×5cm.

This pottery bell is made by reprinting the "octagonal iron bell made in the Edo period. There are three octagonal bells, imitating the bells of the late Edo-period scholar Norinaga Motoori. This shape seems to have been created based on the ekirei bell.
The dark brown color of the bell is covered with intricate patterns drawn in black lines. The pattern is a regular diamond-shaped pattern on the eight faces of the octagonal pillar.
The former residence of Norinaga Motoori in Ise was also called Suzuya, and this item was made there to commemorate him.
