This set of tea utensils is for drinking Japanese 煎茶 sencha tea.
Banko-yaki has been produced since the Edo period and has a kiln in Yokkaichi.
Tea utensils made of reddish-brown clay with high iron content are the most popular, but it has been used for a variety of pottery.
This is a set of high-grade green tea utensils made from hardened high-quality clay.
The set includes a teapot and two teacups with lids. They are beautifully decorated with fine lines and mesh-like marks. All are signed in Chinese characters.
The inside of the bowl is glazed white so that the color of green tea can be enjoyed.
Recent studies have shown that teapots made from this iron-rich clay mellow the taste of tea and make it more delicious.
