Japanese Sake Cup, Seto Ware Ochoko, Dark Gray Ceramic - Blue Pampas, Signed Artist Mark, Wooden Gift Box

This sake cup features a footed base and a design on the interior depicting a plant-like motif. It was created by Minoru Terada, a Seto-yaki ceramic artist born in 1936. While rooted in the traditions of Seto ware, Terada is acclaimed both in Japan and abroad for his highly original and playful craftsmanship. His exceptional artistic sensibility and skill have earned him international recognition, with his works held in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Nationalmuseum (Stockholm, Sweden), Höganäs Museum (Sweden), the National Museum of Peru, and the National Museum of Oriental Art (Argentina). He is also renowned for creating a massive ceramic mural at the Seto venue of the 2005 World Expo (Expo 2005 Aichi), leaving behind a monumental work of art for the event.

The cup is a dark gray—almost black—in color, featuring a beautiful blue design on the inside that resembles Japanese pampas grass. The artist's signature is engraved on the bottom.

It comes in an original wooden box, making it an excellent choice for a gift.
