Japanese old pottery whistle Aomori and traditional toys Dove-shaped bird whistle in colors W4.7in/W12cm.

This is a type of folk toy called 下川原焼 Shimokawara-yaki. Shimokawara ware originated in the late Edo period when the feudal lord of Tsugaru (present-day Aomori Prefecture) ordered the production of clay figurines as children's toys.
The pigeon whistle is a clay whistle shaped like a pigeon, characterized by its simple, charming appearance and gentle “ho” sound.
Painted in vivid colors on a white base, it is also cute as a decorative item.
